My trip down south – Day Three. (2nd May)

Today I got to meet the first of my southern online friends. I joined an online forum several years ago and from that I have made some very close friends. But I have never met these people in person. Until today…

I left Maitland this morning and headed south along the Sydney Newcastle Freeway. After a while I pulled off into a side road and visited Erica. Erica is a lovely lady and I felt a rapport with her as soon as I met her. We walked around her place as she showed me her chooks while she fed them. Then Erica made us coffee and we settled down and had a good old chat. It was a great way to spend an hour or two.

But unfortunately I had to leave as I had to be in Wagga Wagga that night. So after we said goodbye, I continued down the freeway to Sydney and then west on the Hume Hway. I stopped off for a break in Goulburn where I fuelled the car and fuelled myself on MacDonalds coffee.

Then I kept going until I got to Wagga Wagga. It was ten hours and over 600km since I left Maitland so I was worn out. I checked into my motel and then went to find a MacDonalds for tea. I couldn’t be bothered finding anything else. I also bought a bottle of wine to take as a gift on one of my next visits but I settled down to write this blog and it was too tempting.

Oh well, I can always get another one tomorrow…

I liked how they cut the Sydney Newcastle Freeway through the rocky ridges and left the bit in the middle…

I love the contrasting trunks with the green leaves on these eucalypts east of Goulburn.

Oh meant to add another comment – did you time your sleep in that room, 2 hrs on the bed at left then other 3 hrs on the bed in middle, etc… ? lol

Hi Darlene, I’m not sure which way I’ll go home yet but if I go back that way, I’ll sing out.
I just pushed the beds together and had a triple bed! hehe
