This Easter we went camping at Moogerah along with my sister, her family, my brother and his family and some other friends. We left on Good Friday and came home on Easter Monday so we had four days and three nights out there. <\/span><\/span>

The kitchen also had water views. I made this cupboard a few years ago. It is great and packs away into a compact unit.<\/p>\n

I tried my hand at baking cakes in the camp oven. Here is a date loaf…<\/p>\n

and the next day a sultana cake. Both were just yummy if I do say so myself. I enjoyed making the cakes in the camp oven. They were just packet mixes so just needed to add an egg and water but it was very satisfying getting the temperature right with the coals and timing it so they didn’t burn.<\/p>\n

Where there is a tree, there is usually a boy trying to climb it. Pity Tommy fell off this one on the last day as we were packing up.<\/p>\n

<\/a>We enjoyed swimming in the creek. It was very fresh, especially at 5 in the afternoon when I had my bath, but it was lovely.<\/div>\n

 Here is Aaron in mid-air. He jumped from the tree above him. This is a lovely deep water hole.<\/span><\/span>

Tommy caught a guppy in the billy. He drained the water off it and I think the poor thing died from being handled. He threw it on the fire and then tried to catch another one ‘so the first one wouldn’t be lonely’. He was out of luck the second time around. Kids come out with some funny things. Wasn’t funny for the guppy though…<\/p>\n

I enjoyed seeing this shag turn up. The kids didn’t worry it, it landed in the creek and the water was so clear you could see it swimming underwater looking for food. Then it went up into a tree to dry its wings. That’s when I took this photo of it.<\/p>\n

We made Tommo’s Roustabout Stew for tea in the camp oven. Was delicious!

Aaron caught this jew fish on the last night and he enjoyed it for breaky the next day cooked over the coals. Dad had to clean it though…<\/span><\/span><\/span>
