Well, after more than six months thinking about it, the time has finally come. I have been wanting to meet my relations in NSW for a few years now. I have also made friends with about a dozen people from NSW and Victoria over the last couple of years over the Internet and I would also like to meet them face to face.<\/p>

So I have planned this holiday for months now and have spent the last week getting everything sorted out. I was all packed last night so today all I had to do was have breakfast, get cleaned up and hit the road.<\/p>

This is a solo trip for me so it was a bit sad saying goodbye to my family this morning knowing I won’t see them for two weeks. But thanks to the mobile phone and the Internet, I will be able to keep in constant touch with them.<\/p>

Today was a day spent travelling. I have arranged to meet my aunts, uncles and cousins at Maitland tomorrow so I wanted to travel most of the way today. I had booked a room at Taree earlier in the week.<\/p>

I left Boonah at 7:05am this morning. Just out of Boonah I caught up to these motor bikes. “Great” I thought! I followed them from Maroon to Rathdowney. Their speed ranged from 40km\/h to 100km\/h – very frustrating. Maybe the damp winding roads had something to do with it. Thankfully they turned left at Rathdowney as I turned right. It showered from NSW border to Kyogle. I travelled to Casino where I fuelled the car and stopped for coffee at Macdonalds. (I was good, I had a Bran and Walnut muffin with my coffee instead of a burger).<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

From Casino, I travelled to Grafton where I stretched my legs and bought some fruit, nuts and snacks at Aldi. There was barely a car on the road so far. It was very quiet. I then continued onto Coffs Harbour. As I was driving along the Pacific Hway, I turned onto a side road on impulse and it lead to a quiet secluded beach. So I pulled up and had a bit to eat at Diggers Beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

I left Coffs Harbour at a quarter past one and as I had set my arrival time at the motel for 4:00pm, I drove straight to Taree. It was a three hour drive – I got there at 4:15. I badly needed a toilet stop by the time I got here. After I had checked in, I went for a look around town and walked along the beautiful Manning River. It was late afternoon so there were some lovely colours reflecting off the water from the setting sun.<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n

I’m worn out now. I travelled 592km today. Tomorrow will be easier, only 180km to go to get to Maitland. We are having lunch at my cousin’s place. I’m so looking forward to meeting everybody.<\/p>

And now I’m thinking very seriously about my bed…<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
