I slept in today. After I had a shower and then breakfast it was 9:30am. I hadn’t any plans for the day but I remembered a friend had visited the beaches at Mornington recently. So I decided that would be a good thing to do today. <\/span><\/span>

I left my motel at Box Hill and drove to the Shire Hall Beach at Mornington. It is a lovely spot and I spent some time walking along the beach. After this it was lunch time so I called into the ‘Boyz 4 Breakie’ cafe. I had a Boyz Minute Steak Sandwich and a flat white coffee for lunch. Delicious! After lunch I had a look at a few historic buildings before wandering through the nearby park.<\/span><\/span>

After I left Mornington, I drove to Arthurs Seat near Dromana. This provided a wonderful view of Port Phillip Bay. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

After I went to Arthurs Seat, I visited Heronswood at Dromana (Diggers Club). I have wanted to go here for probably 20 years and in my opinion was worth the $10 to go in and see the gardens.<\/span>

I then left Heronswood and went to Sorrento Back Beach.<\/span>

I then went to look at Point Nepean. I had to park about 4km away and walk in. It was a pleasant walk. Part way along I noticed a sign pointing to a memorial for Harold Holt, Prime Minister of Australia who went missing in 1967. It was at this spot he had disappeared into the ocean.<\/span>

I continued on until I came across Fort Pearce and the Pearce Barracks. Fort Nepean was at the point of <\/span>Point Nepean.<\/span>
