Today was a day of travel. I travelled 640km today from Morwell, Victoria to Canberra where I am staying the night.<\/p>

I slept in a bit and only left Morwell at ten to nine. I travelled to Bairnsdale where I had morning tea and a quick walk around.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Then I continued to travel east through Gippsland until I came to Cann River. This was a good place to stop for lunch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Shortly after lunch, I headed north on the Monaro Hway crossing into NSW at 2pm. I took delight in watching the elevation on my GPS with it peaking at 1,118m just south of Nimmitabel. I was thinking “Wow, that’s more than a kilometre above the sea.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Soon after this I came to the town of Cooma where I stopped off at Macdonalds for a coffee. I was lucky because I was offered some pastries that had just gone over their time for free. I then continued on the road until I reached my motel in Canberra. I used a web site to book my motel and for the hell of it, I picked a mystery motel in Canberra. I ended up at Rydges which is a bit more upmarket than the other motels I have been staying at. And all for the same price!<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

I was looking for somewhere to eat so I had a quick look online. Someone had a favourable review for Grill’d at Westfield Belconnen so I headed along there. I had a burger at Grill’d which was nice and then I spent an hour or so wandering around the shops before going back to my motel room.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
