After we woke up and packed, I said goodbye to Kirsty and arranged to meet Vicki and Chris in Hamilton where Vicki was going to give us a grand tour of her new home. It was a pleasant drive from Horsham to Hamilton.
Vicki’s new house is lovely. It has polished timber floorboards, a cathedral ceiling and is very well laid out. I could see Vicki had put a lot of thought into its design.
I said goodbye to Vicki and Chris, then decided that weeks worth of washing couldn’t wait any longer. So I found a laundromat and did my laundry. By this time it was lunchtime.
Vicki and Chris had suggested a few places I could go look at so I set out to have a bit of a look at the Grampians. I left Hamilton and drove through Dunkeld, Glenthompson and Willaura before going along Yarram Gap Rd and Victoria Valley Rd through the hills to Cavendish. I pulled over in a few places to take photos – two being Lake Muirhead and Mirranatwa Gap Scenic Lookout.
I still had a bit of daylight after this so I drove west of Hamilton to check out Wannon Falls. I was able to have a good look around before dusk started to settle.
As I went back to my motel, I saw a van on a street side in Hamilton selling baked potatoes. So that was a perfect end to a lovely day – a baked potato smothered in garlic butter, bolognese sauce, cheese and sour cream.
