My trip down south – Day Ten. (9th May)

I stayed overnight at a motel in Geelong. After I left the motel, I decided to go down to the waterfront and I found the Geelong Botanic Gardens. I spent an hour or so wandering around having a good look. It was a nice sunny morning and the harbour was spectacular.

I seem to find good company wherever I go. And this young lady appears to like me it seems…

After I left the gardens, I drove to Port Lonsdale. I checked out the lighthouse and the old gun emplacements before exploring the beach and the rock pools. Following on from this, I drove around to Barwon Heads and had a quick look around there. This took up most of the day. After this, it was time to head off again. I drove to Melbourne where I had booked a motel at Box Hill for the next three nights.

After I settled in at the motel, I met my friend Rob. Rob had booked a table for us at thMicawber Tavern at Belgrave. The atmosphere was great and we had a most enjoyable meal there. After the meal, Rob took me to Skyhigh at Mount Dandenong. The view of the Melbourne lights from there was breathtaking. It was also freezing up there.  Unfortunately I forgot to take my camera with me. The view at night was just magic.
