My trip down south – Day Seven. (6th May)

Day Seven saw me on the road again. I stayed until Pam dropped her children off at school then we went around to Jan’s for a cuppa before I headed off. It was really great catching up with Pam and Jan. I was a bit sad I had to leave, they are a wonderful pair of ladies.

I was travelling to Horsham but I’d arranged to meet Linda and her partner Ray for lunch halfway there. There was a slight hiccup though. I typed in the name of the cafe we were meeting at into my GPS and it took me to that cafe. Wrong town though. I didn’t realise that there is a chain of those cafes and the same one is in the neighbouring town. Anyway it only took twenty minutes to fix so I still got to spend an hour with Linda and Ray. They are another lovely couple and we had a good chat.

‘Dominica’ was built in 1899 and was one of the earliest two storey private residential buildings in Ararat.

I then continued on my way to Horsham where I was meeting three other friends, Vicky, Chris and Kirsty. As Horsham was central for everyone, we booked rooms at a motel there. The girls shared one and I had another.
We had dinner at the Royal Hotel in town. They had an impressive menu and it was a great place to have a meal. After our meal, we picked up a few supplies and headed back to the motel. As my room had a table and chairs, we retired there and then the fun started. We had a few drinkies, quite a bit of talk, the odd facebook update and a ton of fun!
At around 1:30am the girls headed off to bed and I was asleep by 2am. A top day…
